The CVBC is accepting applications from members of the public to sit on regulatory committees!

The mandate of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC) is to ensure that the public and animals of B.C. are served by a competent and ethical profession. To do this the CVBC must set and enforce standards of practice and conduct that apply to all veterinarians in B.C.

Opportunity: The CVBC will be establishing a pool of eligible candidates which can be drawn from to fill Committee vacancies in 2024.

Location: Candidate must live in British Columbia.  Meetings are primarily virtual with one or two in person meetings in the lower mainland for which travel expenses are paid.     

Qualifications:  A combination of skills and experience will be considered in the application process and will be dependent on the nature of the committee.

Required Criteria:

• Must be a resident of BC
• Must be comfortable with the use of a computer, as well as utilizing secure virtual platforms such as SharePoint to access meeting materials
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 

Desired Criteria:

• Knowledge of provincial legislation such as the Health Professions Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Administrative Tribunals Act
• Experience on boards and/or committees 
• Experience in business management, governance, equity diversity and inclusion, financial management, law, human health, animal health background
