Dr. Rajan Salhotra is reprimanded, ordered to complete and pass the College’s Bylaw and Ethics course and exam, ordered to complete specified continuing education, and ordered to pay $29,465.31.

Suspension: Dr. Javaid Chaudhry


Dr. Javaid Chaudhry
is suspended for one month effective March 20, 2025. Dr. Chaudhry is prohibited from practising veterinary medicine in British Columbia while suspended.

Election of Council Officers


The following members of Council were elected on March 14, 2025 to serve a one-year term as officers of Council:
 
President: Dr. Jane Pritchard
Vice-President: Dr. Michele Martin
Treasurer: Mr. Gian Sihota 

Discipline Decision: Dr. Pavitar Bajwa

 

Dr. Pavitar Bajwa is found to have: 

  1. committed professional misconduct by failing to obtain informed consent or any consent prior to the use of general anesthetic in the treatment of a dog, which was found to be a marked departure from the standard expected of a competent veterinarian; 
  2. maintained deficient medical records in breach of the College’s Bylaws and Professional Practice Standards; and 
  3. committed professional misconduct by maintaining deficient medical records, the deficient nature of which prohibited the College from effectively reviewing the care and treatment of the dog, which was found to be a marked departure from the standard expected of a competent veterinarian.

2025 Council Election Results

Dr. Jane Pritchard has been re-elected to the Council of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia for another 3-year term effective March 14, 2025.

Discipline Decision: Dr. Javaid Chaudhry


Dr. Javaid Chaudhry
is reprimanded, suspended one month, ordered to undertake 12 hours of specified continuing education, and ordered to pay $40,372.73.
